What Wedding Photography Costs in Ireland
Wedding photography in Ireland typically costs €1,500 to €4,000 for a full day, with most couples spending €2,000 to €3,000. Wedding videography typically runs €1,800 to €4,000, with most professional full-day packages between €2,000 and €2,800.
The spread is not mainly about hours on the day. Two photographers can both shoot ten hours and price €1,000 apart, because what separates them is experience, whether a second shooter is included, how many images are delivered, how long the edit takes, and whether travel and insurance are inside the number or added to it.
Our photography starts at €1,800, videography at €1,300, and the two together at €2,800. Every figure on this page is the figure you pay. Travel is included nationwide, and there are no print packages to buy afterwards.
The Packages
Until Dinner Coverage, €1,800, runs from morning preparations through to the meal, about eight hours, and delivers around 500 edited photographs. It reaches the ceremony, the portraits, the drinks reception and the speeches if yours are before dinner.
Full Day Coverage, €2,200, runs from preparations to the first dance and delivers around 800 photographs. Choose this if your speeches are after the meal, if the band matters to you, or if you want the room as it actually looked once everyone relaxed.
Highlights Package, €1,300, covers morning preparations to dinner and produces a 3–5 minute cinematic film plus a full ceremony edit.
Full Story, €1,700, runs to the first dance and produces a 5–8 minute film plus full edits of the ceremony and the speeches.
The bundles put photography and videography with the same team on one contract. The Essential Bundle is €2,800 and saves €300 against booking the two separately; the Complete Bundle is €3,400 and saves €500. There is more on why one team beats two in the one-team guide.
Elopements start at €700 and engagement sessions at €400.
What Drives the Price
Coverage length. The difference between finishing at dinner and staying for the first dance is two or three hours on the day and a good deal more in the edit.
Number of delivered images. Culling and grading 800 frames is meaningfully more desk work than 500. This is where most of the gap between packages sits.
Whether a second shooter is included. A second photographer buys you two angles on the ceremony and coverage of both partners getting ready at once. Worth it for larger weddings, unnecessary for small ones. There is a fuller answer in do I need a second photographer.
What is bundled versus added. Travel, insurance and the online gallery are inside every price here. Ask any supplier whether that is true of theirs, because it is the most common source of a quote that grows.
Booking and Availability
Peak wedding season in Ireland runs May to September. For a summer Saturday in June, July or August, twelve to eighteen months ahead is not unusual, and the most-booked photographers fill those dates first. For off-peak dates, midweek, winter and spring, six to nine months is usually comfortable. A Friday in November is one of the better-value decisions available to a couple planning around a budget.
A 25% deposit secures the date and the balance is due before the wedding. Revolut, bank transfer or Zippay. If you are weighing up timing, how far in advance to book goes through it properly.
To check a specific date, get in touch. Availability is the one thing a price list cannot tell you.
What Every Package Includes
Full-resolution edited images with no watermarks, a private online gallery, nationwide travel, €6.5m public liability insurance, and a pre-wedding consultation. Albums and prints are available and are never a condition of receiving your photographs.
Comparing Quotes
Four questions separate photographers faster than anything else:
- How many edited images, and at what resolution? “A selection” is not a number.
- Are travel and insurance included? Both are routinely added later.
- What is the turnaround? Six to ten weeks is common across the Irish market, and anything past three months is worth questioning. Ours is about four weeks for a wedding gallery, six at peak, and eight to ten weeks for a film.
- Can you see one complete wedding, start to finish? A portfolio of best-of frames from fifty weddings tells you far less than every frame from one. Ours are on the blog, and the full portfolio is here.
For the market-wide picture rather than ours, there is a full breakdown in what a wedding photographer costs in Ireland and what a videographer costs.
