Wedding Photography FAQs
Common questions about booking wedding, elopement, and engagement photography with Duffymog Studios in Dublin and across Ireland. Can't find what you're looking for? Drop me a message and I'll get back to you within 24 hours.
What is your style of photography?
I try to achieve a best of both worlds with candids and documentary style throughout the day with some posed shots interspersed.
Can we see a full gallery from a recent wedding?
Absolutely! Please get in touch and I would be happy to share a link to a gallery with the couple's permission.
Are pets welcome at shoots?
100% yes, bring them along! Pets are family and they make for the most joyful, candid moments. Whether it's your dog trotting down the aisle or joining you for engagement portraits, they are always welcome.
Do you photograph civil ceremonies and non-religious weddings?
Absolutely, I photograph every kind of love. Whether you're getting married in a registry office, a farm, a beach, or a castle, I'm there for it.
Do you offer a pre-wedding consultation?
Yes, and I love them! A pre-wedding chat is included with every package. It's a chance to talk through your timeline, must-have shots, any family dynamics to be aware of, and just get comfortable with each other before the big day.
How do we book you for our wedding/engagement/portrait session?
A 25% deposit is required to lock in your date. This can be paid via Revolut, bank transfer or Zippay.
Is there a fee for travel?
All wedding packages include travel anywhere in Ireland. Elopements and Engagements include travel within the Greater Dublin Area (Dublin, Kildare, Meath and Wicklow).
Are you insured?
Yes, covered up to €6.5m and cleared to work in venues such as the National Gallery of Ireland.
What happens if a camera or lens stops working?
We always come prepared with multiple cameras and lenses, so we have backup equipment ready if something stops working. All our cameras also use dual SD cards. Backup equipment is part of how we prepare for every wedding.
What happens if you are ill or have an emergency?
We have a network of photographers and videographers we can call on for cover if illness or an emergency prevents us from attending. If that happens, we will let you know as soon as possible and work to arrange suitable cover, keeping you informed throughout.
How do you back up our photographs?
We use a 3-2-1 backup approach: three copies of your photographs, using SD cards and SSD storage, with one copy stored offsite in the cloud. This gives us multiple copies in separate places rather than relying on a single device.
How long does it typically take to receive the final photos?
Typically it takes four weeks but at peak times it can take up to six weeks. I promise they are worth the wait!
What format will we receive our photos in?
Your photos are delivered via a private online gallery where you can download the full-resolution files. You'll have full print rights, no watermarks, ever, so you can print, share, and treasure them however you like.
How long will our gallery and photographs be kept?
Your private gallery is available for 12 months after delivery, and we hold your photographs for that period. Please download your photographs soon after you receive them and keep your own backup. Your downloaded files are yours to keep, print and share after the gallery closes.
What happens if the weather is bad on our wedding day?
Ireland keeps us on our toes! I've shot in everything from glorious sunshine to horizontal rain, and honestly some of the most atmospheric and beautiful shots come from moody skies. I work with whatever the day brings and plan for indoor or sheltered alternatives when needed.
Are there any additional fees or expenses I should be aware of?
If you are booking a wedding package I just kindly ask that you provide a meal for me (most venues will have this included as part of their packages).
What is your cancellation or postponement policy?
Life happens! If you need to postpone, I'll do my best to transfer your booking to a new date at no extra cost, subject to availability. In the event of a cancellation, the deposit is non-refundable as it secures your date exclusively for you. Please get in touch and we can work through it together.
Do you offer wedding videography?
Yes! We now offer cinematic wedding videography as a standalone service or as part of our photo + video bundles. Having the same team handle both photography and video means a seamless experience on your day with no competing cameras or conflicting timelines.
How many weddings have you filmed?
One so far. Videography is new for 2026, which is exactly why the pricing is what it is. Behind the camera is eight years and 30 five-star reviews of wedding photography, insured to €6.5M and cleared to work in venues like the National Gallery of Ireland, so the day itself is very well-trodden ground.
Why is your wedding videography priced below the market?
Because the film portfolio is one wedding deep and the pricing should say so. Irish wedding films typically run €1,800 to €4,000. These are founding rates for couples booking while the portfolio is being built, and they will rise as it does. What you get for them does not change: the same kit, the same insurance, and the same team on your day.
What does a wedding film actually capture?
The things a photograph cannot: sound and time. Your vows in your own voices, so you can hear the words you spent months choosing. The speeches, with the stories and the laughs and the pauses. The little moments, your family's faces, your friends on the dance floor, the quiet five minutes you got alone together. And the atmosphere of the day itself, the music, the applause and the noise of a room full of people who love you.
What is included in the wedding video?
Every video package includes a cinematic highlight film (3–8 minutes depending on package) and a full continuous ceremony edit. Our Full Story package also includes a complete speeches edit. All films use licensed music and are delivered digitally.
How long does it take to receive our wedding video?
Wedding films are typically delivered within 8–10 weeks. If you also booked photography, your photo gallery will arrive first (4–6 weeks) with the film following shortly after.
Can we add videography to an existing photography booking?
Absolutely! If you have already booked a photography package and would like to add video, just get in touch. We can add a standalone video package or upgrade you to one of our photo + video bundles at a discounted rate.
Why should we book photo and video together?
When your photographer and videographer are the same team, there is no awkward jostling for angles or conflicting directions during your ceremony and portraits. You get a seamless experience, a single point of contact, and you save money with our bundle pricing.
