Family Photography FAQs

We use a 3-2-1 backup approach: three copies of your photographs, using SD cards and SSD storage, with one copy stored offsite in the cloud. This gives us multiple copies in separate places rather than relying on a single device.

Your private gallery is available for 12 months after delivery, and we hold your photographs for that period. Please download your photographs soon after you receive them and keep your own backup. Your downloaded files are yours to keep, print and share after the gallery closes.

I shoot in locations that feel natural to your family, your home, a favourite park, the beach, Dublin's Georgian squares, or anywhere that has meaning for you. For newborn sessions, I always recommend your home, baby is most comfortable there, and the photos feel genuinely personal.

Wear what makes you feel like yourselves. I'll send you a simple style guide after booking, but the short version is: coordinate loosely (soft, neutral tones work beautifully), skip the logos, and prioritise comfort, especially for little ones.

Not even slightly. Running, climbing, giggling, sulking, that's real life, and real life makes the best photographs. I work in a completely candid, documentary style. No forced poses, no 'say cheese.' The best family photos happen when everyone forgets the camera is there.

The first two weeks are not a deadline for lifestyle newborn photographs. We can plan a session in the first weeks or at three, four or six weeks and beyond. Share your baby's age or due-date window and we will choose a date around your family.

Absolutely. Dogs, cats, the family goldfish, everyone is welcome. Some of my favourite family photos have four-legged family members in them.

Every session includes the shoot itself, professional editing of all images, a private online gallery, full-resolution digital files, and full print rights. No watermarks, no hidden fees. Prints and albums are available as optional extras.

Yes! Greater Dublin Area travel is included in all packages. For locations further afield, I'm happy to travel anywhere in Ireland, just get in touch and we'll work it out.

Life happens. If weather, illness or family circumstances disrupt your session, we will work together to find another suitable date. Let me know as soon as you can. There is no pressure to go ahead when someone is unwell.

No. Ask a question or tell me roughly what you have in mind, and I will reply within 24 hours with availability and a session suggestion. Once we agree the details, a 25% deposit secures your booking.

Choose the 45-minute Family Session for a straightforward session in one place, including families with younger children. Choose the 90-minute Full Session for extended families, two locations or more variety. You do not need to upgrade simply because your children are young; tell me what would make the session comfortable for them.

The At-Home Newborn session is €400. It includes 1-2 hours in your home, baby with parents and siblings, approximately 50 edited photographs, a private gallery, full-resolution downloads and full print rights. Greater Dublin Area travel is included.

We can photograph the first weeks at home, and you have not missed your chance if the first fortnight has passed. Lifestyle sessions can take place at three, four or six weeks and beyond. Tell me your baby's age or due-date window and we will choose a date around your family.

I offer lifestyle newborn photography in your home, using window light and the moments you share with your baby. The session does not include studio backdrops, elaborate props or arranged newborn poses. The real session story on this page shows the kind of photographs you can expect.

We pause. The package allows 1-2 hours including breaks for feeding, changing and settling. Tell me about any particular needs before we agree the session so we can plan enough time and flexibility.

Yes. Parents and siblings are included in the at-home newborn session. We can involve older children while they are interested, then let them take a break. You do not need to book the separate family bundle to include them.

The Bump Session is €350 for 45 minutes outdoors or at home, with approximately 40 edited photographs. The €650 Bump to Baby bundle adds a 1–2 hour newborn session at home, with approximately 90 images across both sessions. Greater Dublin Area travel, full-resolution downloads and full print rights are included.

Get in touch with your due-date window. We often plan maternity sessions around 28–34 weeks, but choose a date around your comfort and circumstances. You do not need an exact session date to enquire.

We can plan a session in a Dublin park, at the beach or in your home. The portfolio includes a real outdoor maternity session at Farmleigh in the Phoenix Park. We check access and any permission needed for the chosen location before confirming plans. Greater Dublin Area travel is included.

Yes. Partners and older children are welcome in the Bump Session, alongside photographs of you on your own. Tell me who is coming so we can choose a place and pace that suit everyone.

Wherever suits your family. Popular choices include Herbert Park, Phoenix Park, Sandymount Strand, Bull Island, Iveagh Gardens, and the Wicklow foothills. Or your own home and garden, which is especially good for younger children or in winter. If you've got a favourite spot, we'll shoot there.

The Family Session runs about 45 minutes, plenty of time in one location with young kids who won't sit still for much longer. The Full Session runs closer to 90 minutes and allows for two locations or a change of scenery, which suits older kids or larger families.

I've never had a session that didn't produce beautiful images because a child wouldn't sit still.

Golden hour, roughly an hour before sunset, gives the softest and most flattering light and works beautifully in almost every Dublin location. For families with very young children or babies, morning sessions can also work well when everyone's fresh. We'll pick a time that suits your family's rhythm.
