It’s a fair question, and one that’s harder to answer than it should be, because videography pricing in Ireland is less transparent than photography. Many videographers don’t publish their rates. So here’s a straightforward breakdown based on the current Irish market.

In 2026, most wedding videographers in Ireland charge between €1,200 and €4,000 for full wedding-day coverage. Here’s how that price range breaks down:

Some videographers spend 40+ hours editing a single wedding. That work is reflected in the price.
Hours of Coverage
A videographer covering ceremony to first dance will charge less than one covering morning prep through late-night dancing. Think about which parts of the day matter most to you on film. The ceremony and speeches are almost always worth capturing. Morning prep can be lovely but isn’t essential for everyone.
Equipment and Team Size
A solo videographer with one camera produces a very different result to a two-person team with multiple angles, dedicated audio recording, and stabilised gimbal footage. More gear and more people means more cost, but also more coverage and a more polished final film.
Drone Footage
Aerial footage can be stunning, especially at Irish venues with dramatic landscapes. But it’s an add-on that requires a licensed drone pilot and is subject to weather and location restrictions. If a package includes drone as standard, expect to pay more.
Raw Footage
Some couples want the full, unedited footage from every camera. This is a reasonable request, but it’s an add-on that most videographers charge extra for, as it requires additional file management and delivery.
Experience and Demand
Just like photography, a videographer who has filmed 200+ weddings and is booked a year out will charge more than someone starting out. You’re paying for their ability to capture audio cleanly in a echoey church, manage changing light without missing a beat, and edit a story from hours of footage.
Location and Travel
Most videographers based in Dublin or other Irish cities include reasonable travel. For weddings in more remote parts of Ireland, think West Cork or Achill Island, there may be additional travel or accommodation costs.
Is Wedding Videography Worth It?
You won’t win any prizes guessing that the person selling wedding videography services believes they are worthwhile. In all seriousness we feel that wedding photography is a must, even if it is not us, please do hire someone to capture the day. Videography is more of a nice to have and for our own wedding (we’re a husband and wife duo in case we forgot to mention!) Conor really wasn’t too pushed about having one but afterwards he genuinely regretted not having one, and if you asked him today he’d tell you to book it.
Photography captures moments. Video captures motion, sound, and time. The way your partner’s voice sounded reading their vows. Your granny laughing during the speeches. The cheer as you walked in after the dinner call. These are things a photograph, no matter how beautiful, cannot give you.
You’ll look at your wedding photos regularly. But the first time you watch your wedding film, you’ll feel it all over again in a way that catches you completely off guard.
With all that said, planning and paying for a wedding is a very expensive time in your life and videography is an additional cost. We’re not trying to do a hard sell here, we obviously recommend a full day package to cover everything and we do offer bundle discounts if you also book us for photography. However, if the budget is already being squeezed by the countless other costs, maybe consider a short highlights package covering just the ceremony, that might be all you need. A few practical tips:
- Budget for photography and videography together. If you know you want both, look at combined packages first. Booking photo and video from the same team almost always saves money and avoids coordination headaches.
- Allocate 8–12% of your total wedding budget to photography and videography combined, this is a realistic guideline for the Irish market.
- Book early. Good videographers book out quickly, especially for summer Saturdays. Twelve months ahead is ideal.
- Ask about payment plans. Many videographers (ourselves included) offer flexible payment options to spread the cost.
- Be upfront about your budget. A good videographer will help you find the right level of coverage for what you can afford.

Questions to Ask Before You Book a Wedding Videographer
Before signing a contract, make sure you’re clear on:
- What’s included in the package? (highlight film, ceremony, speeches, raw footage?)
- How long will the highlight film be?
- How many cameras will be used on the day?
- How is audio captured? (built-in mic, lapel mics, separate audio recorder?)
- When will the final films be delivered?
- Is travel included?
- What happens if the videographer is ill on the day?
- Will there be any music licensing issues with the final film?
- Can you request specific songs for the highlight edit?
